Boston University Bands (formerly known as “BUMO”) program celebrates its 100-year milestone of making music at BU. Join us on October 21-23, 2022 at Boston University for a variety of events with the Boston University Bands community and friends.

Registration for ticketed events is now CLOSED. The “100 Years of Bands at BU” Concert & Reception does not require a ticket and is open and free to the public!
Friday, 10/21/22
BU Men’s Hockey Pre-Game Reception – 5:30pm-6:45pm (New Start Time) SOLD OUT
Friends & Family Lounge, Agganis Arena, 925 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA 02215
Kick-off your weekend with a pre-game reception at the exclusive Friends & Family Lounge at Agganis Arena with BU Bands community members! Hear from BU Athletics, and take part in an energizing pep rally hosted by the BU Pep Band. Light snacks and refreshments included. Cash bar also available.
BU Men’s Hockey Game – Puck drop @ 7:00pm – Ticket sales have ended.

Class of 2020 & 2021, come perform tonight! All others, grab a significantly discounted group-rate ticket in special sections located near the BU Pep Band at Agganis Arena and cheer on BU Men’s Ice Hockey in their Hockey East conference season opener against University of Connecticut. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Take in the sights and sounds of Agganis Arena, featuring in-game spotlights around the BU Bands 100th Anniversary, the FULL BU Pep Band, an Athletic Bands-wide performance on-ice with “special guests,” and a “4th Period” Pep Band showcase following the game.
When you register on Eventbrite, you will receive an email confirmation with an Eventbrite ticket attachment – In that ticket attachment, you will find a link in the body of the ticket to purchase tickets.

“100 Years of Bands at BU” Concert & Reception – 2:00pm concert, 4:30pm reception (New End Time)

2:00pm – Estimated 4:30pm – The marquee event of the weekend: Listen and watch the live mega-showcase of the Athletic, Concert, and Jazz ensembles of the Boston University Bands program, featuring original compositions in honor of the 100th anniversary. Also featured is the BU College of Fine Arts’ Wind Ensemble, in honor of the 150th anniversary of the BU School of Music.

5:00pm – 6:00pm – Immediately following the concert, celebrate the accomplishments of the musicians at a reception hosted by Harvey Young, the Dean of BU’s College of Fine Arts.
BU Bands 100th Anniversary Celebration Dinner – 7:00pm (7:20pm Dinner is served) – Ticket sales have ended.

Join the BU Bands community in a formal dinner celebrating this 100-year milestone, honoring the past, present, and a look to the future. Special guest speakers include past band directors and graduate assistants dating back to 1981, plus alumni representatives and current students. See some of the physical memorabilia from the bands program on display, and enjoy a plated dinner with the programs’ closest friends.

Additional Information
PLEASE NOTE: This is the same weekend as Boston University Family & Friends Weekend (formerly known as “BU Parent’s Weekend”) as well as the Head of the Charles Regatta. You are encouraged to plan your travel and accommodations ahead of time, and are asked to anticipate heavier than normal traffic. On-campus parking is limited, however BU’s campus is located along the Green Line B trains, as well as multiple bus routes through the MBTA public transportation.
