New ID numbers and Terrier Cards for employees

All members of the Boston University community -- faculty, staff, and students -- must receive a new Terrier Card to replace their previous Boston University I.D. card. Staff and faculty on the Charles River Campus may be photographed and receive their cards in the lower level of the George Sherman Union throughout the month of August. You should bring along your old BU I.D. card. The week of August 3 to 7 has been set aside for staff members whose surnames begin with letters A to K and the week of August 10 to 14 for staff with surnames beginning with letters L to Z. The week of August 17 to 21 has been reserved for faculty. The hours of operation for Terrier Card production and distribution are 10 to 4. The Terrier Card Office will remain open until September 11 for faculty and staff not available during August. After that date, cards can be obtained from the Office of Personnel at 25 Buick Street, second floor.

On the Medical Campus, Terrier Cards can be obtained in the Hiebert Lounge on the 14th floor of the School of Medicine. The dates August 10 to 14 have been reserved for faculty; August 17 to 19 for A to K staff members; and August 19 to 21 for L to Z staff members. Hours of operation are 10 to 4.

The new I.D. numbers introduced with the Terrier Card will take effect in August 1998; Social Security numbers will still be kept on file and used for federal reporting purposes, such as payroll and financial assistance.
