Bunny-costumed Drama Club students hop past
Copley Square's Trinity Church as part of the
November 1951 Homecoming Float Parade. Club members
were promoting the BU production of Mary Chase's
1944 play Harvey, which they staged at Hayden Hall,
now the site of the Tsai Performance Center. Ed
Maxey played the gentle Elwood P. Dowd, who causes
a stir when he befriends an invisible six-foot
rabbit named Harvey. The Pulitzer Prize-winning
play was made into a great movie starring Jimmy
Stewart in 1950.BU Photo Services
