More about the Minor

Students may elect to complete a minor in printmaking by taking a selection of printmaking courses totaling 20 credits.  Drawing experience or the drawing courses AR 131 or 132 are recommended prerequisites for printmaking minors. It is suggested to begin with AR 250 Introduction to Printmaking. Alternatively, initial courses can be AR 447 Printmaking: Etching/Monotype, AR 448 Printmaking: Relief/lithography, or AR 518 Silkscreen.  Enrollment in the minor is by declaration, filed with the printmaking department and the Visual Arts Office.

Curriculum requirements for the Printmaking Minor can be found on the Academic Bulletin.

Any BU Summer Term Printmaking course will also count towards the Printmaking minor.

Visual Arts minors are eligible to participate in the Venice Studio Arts program offered through BU Study Abroad. This program, offered during the summer and the academic year, provides students with the opportunity to study visual arts and Italian culture.  All printmaking courses offered in Venice count towards the Printmaking minor.
