The Woodwind Quintet Workshop is a two-week intensive for individuals, ages 14-20, who play bassoon, clarinet, flute, french horn, or oboe, and pre-existent ensembles who are ready to dive into the world of wind quintet performance at a high level. Directed by nationally acclaimed flutist and composer Valerie Coleman, participants are mentored by her and guest artists who are leading professionals in the areas of chamber music and orchestral performance. The workshop will focus on building ensemble skills and technique while exploring repertoire from the past, present and future, composing and arranging, audience engagement, and entrepreneurship. Activities include daily classes and coachings, ensemble and solo masterclasses, and rehearsal time. The Workshop is designed to give students the tools needed to move forward in serious pursuit of chamber music performance.
