Undergraduate Opportunities

Undergraduate Research Oppurtunities Program (UROP)

UROP provides an opportunity for full-time undergraduates throughout all of Boston University to be involved in research.  The areas of research vary and open positions are frequently posted.  For more information about UROP, please visit: http://www.bu.edu/urop/

Study Abroad

Part of the Department of Chemistry’s commitment to excellence in research and training includes supporting the BU Study Abroad experience. The University offers 75+ programs that are compatible with regular course credit and financial aid at BU.  The science programs offer CH 203 in the fall semester, a required course that is a part of the sophomore core curriculum in many science disciplines, including Chemistry, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BMB) and Biology majors.  For more information about how to participate, visit BU Study Abroad and schedule a meeting with your academic advisor to learn how studying abroad can work with your curriculum.  For additional academic guidance, contact Professor QC, Director of Chemistry Undergraduate Studies, qiangcui@bu.edu.

Chemia

Chemia is the BU Chemistry Department’s student organization.  Chemia offers free tutoring for General and Organic Chemistry.  Chemia also organizes activities such as trips to pharmaceutical companies, and information sessions on research opportunities and graduate school.  Please also be sure to check out the Chemia website where you can find recordings of past events, the Chemia calendar, and more!
