Not the Next Big Thing.
The Thing After That.
At Boston University College of Communication (COM), we shape the future of the ever-changing ad industry by leading today and creating the leaders of tomorrow.
The award-winning professionals on our faculty conduct cutting-edge research, share industry techniques with their students, and, for many, remain active creatives in the industry. They include professors who directed campaigns for P&G, The Home Depot, General Motors, the maker of Samual Adams beer, as well as the co-creator of a TV ad for Anheuser-Busch named by AdAge as one of top-five commercials in the first 50-years of Super Bowl advertising.
We prepare students for long, successful careers by leveraging their own extensive, real-world experience. Classwork casts a wide net to include writing, design, branding, strategy and account management.
Just as vital to the COM experience are the learning opportunities outside of class, such as those offered by AdLab, the country’s first student-run advertising agency, and through our Los Angeles summer internship program in advertising and public relations.
After graduation? Based on the accomplishments of our graduates, the future is bright. COM alumni have created some of the greatest ads of all time, and they have reached the highest levels of industry leadership.
With all the changes we’ve seen since BU’s first advertising class in 1913, we’d be foolish to make too many predictions about the industry’s future. We’ll make just one: it will be shaped by COM.
