International Students
International students who are neither permanent residents nor eligible non-citizens may qualify for credit-based loans. Please refer to this page for more information on credit-based loans available to international students and the steps you should take in investigating your loan options.
With a co-borrower
Many U.S.
lenders offer credit-based educational loans to international students if they apply with a credit-worthy U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen co-borrower. If you are able to secure a qualified co-borrower we urge you to do so and consider loans of this type, because approval and more favorable terms will be more likely.
Without a co-borrower
If you are an international student seeking to borrow without a co-borrower you will find fewer lenders from which to choose. We have gathered a list of lenders that do not require a U. S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen co-borrower, however their interest rates and other terms may be less favorable. Certain restrictions apply as noted. Please refer to
this page for more information.
Tuition Payment Plan
International students with a U.S. bank account for ACH payments are eligible to enroll in the Payment Plan. The plan allows you to budget charged expenses monthly. Because it is not a loan and no interest is charged, the total cost is significantly lower than you would incur with a loan.
For more detailed information about the plan and how to apply, please refer to this page
