Megan Hempstead, MPH

Program Coordinator, Project Preconception Care

Megan Hempstead graduated from the University of Maryland and received her Master's in Public Health from Tufts University. Before joining the Project RED team, she worked for LiveHealthier, where she developed and implemented employee wellness programming. Her interest is in health communication interventions and how they can improve health behaviors and outcomes.

She is currently the Program Coordinator for Project Preconception Care, another health information technology project using VPA technology. In Project Preconception Care, the character "Gabby" helps young African American women identify and address their preconception health risks in preparation for future pregnancies and with the ultimate goal of improving birth outcomes.
