Convoluted Conceptions: Where the Wild Things Are – 11.2.19

Join us on November 2 at 8 pm for “Convoluted Conceptions: Where the Wild Things Are,” presented by Contemporarily Out of Order. Doors will open at 7:30 pm.

There will be performances by Contemporarily Out of Order’s professional, repertory and youth companies, and guest performances by Gate City Ballet’s contemporary company, the Greater Boston School of Dance’s competitive team and Boston University’s Summer Reach Program.

Contemporarily Out of Order took the classic tale of “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak and gave it a modern twist. “Where the Wild Things Are” follows the story of Max, a socially inept teenager who runs away from home after being told they’re behaving like a monster. Max finds himself  in a place where poverty has caused all of its inhabitants to turn into monsters acting upon their rawest emotions; hope, grief, excitement, anxiety and depression. Throughout Contemporarily Out of Order’s adaptation, they will examine the human psyche and how patience and love can save you from the darkest of times.

The performance will take place in the Boston University Dance Theater. View more events here.
