Description Statement:

Obesity is a major public health crisis with enormous health and economic consequences for the United States and countries across the globe. Despite the growing threat of obesity, the problem is not well understood and effective solutions are lacking.

Scope of Work:

This project will focus on awareness of the obesity epidemic and the health risks of obesity.  Responsibilities will include conducting a literature review, analyzing national survey data and contributing to the drafting of a research report.

Minimum skills required/desired:

The student should have a background and interest in quantitative methods and data analysis and at least basic proficiency in R, Stata or SAS.

Time / Date Expectations: 8 hour/week
