Paid Family and Medical Leave

BU recognizes that employees may need time away from work for personal medical and family concerns.

To provide peace of mind as employees juggle home and work demands, BU is proud to announce new paid family and medical leave benefits effective January 1, 2021.

These benefits provide paid leave for two purposes:

• Personal medical leave applies if your own illness or injury prevents you from working for a week or more
• Family leave applies if you need time to attend to family health concerns, the arrival of a child, or certain matters related to military service

Matrix Absence Management administers these benefits, which fully comply with or exceed the new Massachusetts Family and Medical Leave Act (MAPFL) requirements.
