NPC Core Seed Award

The NPC uses this award mechanism to support NPC Faculty in the use of NPC Core Facilities by subsidizing the core usage fees. Preference is given to junior faculty and those faculty starting new projects with a likelihood of producing new research grants in general but that also might help support core usage fees in the future. Funding requests for support up to 12 months will be considered. You can apply here. We generally have two application deadlines; one at the start of the Spring Semester and one over the Summer. But applications can be submitted at any time and discussed with the Center Director.

Please fill out the below form to apply for a SEED grant:

NPC Core SEED Award

  • Provide a descriptive title of the project.
  • Requests are usually made for a single PI, but can also be made for collaborations of 2 or more PIs. Requests for larger scale NPC support will be favored better when the NPC is supporting collaborations.
  • Please provide a brief description of the project. A paragraph is fine.
  • Briefly describe the expected outcomes and impact of the support. What grant and/or paper submissions will be impacted?
  • Provide a bullet point list of services and/or funding requested. Services include those from the NPC Core Facility and indicate the number of hours requested and what percent subsidy is requested. Funding requests (beyond just services) will only be considered for projects that build collaborative projects that will support grant applications and should be submitted under the Collaborative Project Award form.
  • Briefly describe the commitment being made by the NPC faculty to the project. For example, which trainees from the faculty lab are committed to working on the project.
  • Briefly describe the current grants and future grant applications that will be impacted by this support.
