Background and research interests
Rosa Vargas is a first year PhD student. Her main research interests are numerical modeling and study of a non local model for water-waves with variable bottom. She is interested in developing a good model that can predict the behavior of the traveling wave solutions, solitons under the influence of variable bathymetry. She is also interested in the study of solutions that can destruct like wave breaking. Also she is looking to understand the discretization of Pseudodifferential operators.
Other interests
In her spare time, she enjoys going to the theater, reading poetry, playing the saxophone, going to concerts of alternative and experimental music.
