Iranian Film Series: "The Last Supper" ("Shaam-e Akhar")

The Iranian Film series will feature recent films from Iran and is open to members of the BU community. Each film will begin at 6pm. Directed by Fereydoun Jeyrani, Shaam-E-Akhar (The Last Supper) features Katayoun Riahi as Mihan, a female architectural history professor, and Mohammad Reza Golzar as Mani, a student who has taken to drawing Mihan's portrait while she lectures the class. Mihan's husband, Mohsen (Atila Pesiani), feels that she doesn't spend enough time at home caring for him. After admitting to her daughter, Setareh (Haniye Tavassoli) that she only stayed with Mohsen for Setareh's sake, Mihan divorces Mohsen and leaves him for good. This gives Mani a new hope, and he falls further in love with Mihan, though Setareh believes that it is she and not her mother who is the object of Mani's affections. - Tracie Cooper, Rovi (http://www.fandango.com/thelastsupper_v278226/summary) Upcoming movies in the Film Series include: Monday, April 11th "Donya" (2003) directed by Manuchehr Mosayyeri Sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature, and the Institute for the Study of Muslim Societies and Civilizations.
