Background

Viktoria Hackbarth earned her PhD in Spanish Language and Literature from Indiana University, Bloomington.  Prior to joining Boston University, Dr. Hackbarth worked for five years as a Lecturer in Spanish at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she developed and coordinated an online reading course for Spanish, taught Business Spanish, and Grammar and Composition courses.  Her interests lie in the communicative language teaching approach, teaching through technology, multiculturalism, and diversity in the classroom.  Dr. Hackbarth’s other areas of interests include twentieth century Spanish literature, Spanish women authors, and contemporary Spanish cinema.
