Professor Kathleen Morgan to Receive Evans Center Excellent Research Collaborator Award

The Evans Center for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research selected Kathleen Morgan, PhD, as a 2018 recipient of the Evans Center IBR Excellent Research Collaborator Award. Morgan is a professor in the Department of Health Sciences, programs in Human Physiology.

The Evans Center IBR Excellent Research Collaborator Awards are “given to individuals who have made special contributions to the efforts and progress of the Affinity Research Collaboratives. Awardees are decided by special committee based on nominations from their ARC directors and peers and overwhelming support of the administration.”

As director of Boston University’s Cytoskeleton & Signaling Laboratory, Morgan’s scholarly interests include studying interactions between signaling proteins and cytoskeletal proteins, the differentiated smooth muscle cell; mechanisms of trafficking of signaling molecules; stroke, hypertension, and pre-term labor.

She has published in leading journals including the Journal of the American Heart Association, American Physiological Society, and Biochemical Journal.

The award will be presented at the 2018 Evans Day Gala Dinner in October.
