Our TESOL, MS in Child Life & Family-Centered Care, and EdM in Counseling programs do not accept applications on a rolling basis and only enroll in the Fall Semester.
Spring Semester:
- Application opens: August 15, 2024
Rolling admissions until:
- October 1, 2024 (International Applicants),
- December 15, 2024 (Domestic Applicants)
Fall Semester
Priority Deadline: January 15 – Applications submitted by this date will receive priority consideration for admission and scholarship.
You can submit your application after January 15 following the below final deadlines*:
*Applications completed after the priority deadline will be considered for admission on a space-available basis. Scholarships will be awarded after the priority deadline based on availability at the time of review.
Doctor of Education (EdD) Deadlines
Executive EdD in Higher Education: February 15, 2025
The EdD in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies: Leadership in Early Childhood Education-Grade 12 program only admits a new cohort every other calendar school year.
The new application will open in August 2025 for Summer/Fall 2026.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Deadlines
To apply to the PhD in Educational Studies or the PhD in Counseling Psychology & Applied Human Development, please note the following deadlines.
Fall start date only
- Application opens: August 15, 2024
- Deadline: December 1, 2024
We strongly recommend submitting your application form by November 24 to meet our December 1 deadline. All Applications materials including transcripts, and letters of recommendations must be received by December 1. Incomplete applications after this deadline will not be considered.
Timeline for Graduate Program Admissions Decisions
BU Wheelock releases admissions decisions about eight weeks after receiving a completed application and after the program-specific deadline has passed.
During summer (around mid-May to early September) and winter breaks (around mid-December to mid-January), your application may take longer to review. Consider applying during the academic year to receive a quicker response.
For priority consideration for admission and scholarship funding, we strongly encourage you to submit your application by the recommended deadline.
Cutoff Dates for Graduate Program Applications
Although many graduate programs at BU Wheelock accept applications on a rolling basis, we stop accepting Boston Campus program applications six weeks before classes begin.
