Infectious Disease Epidemiology“Alana and Natasha each have different strengths and they compliment each other very well! Alana is very clear in her lecturing and makes the epi concepts easy to understand and apply to this material. Natasha is an incredibly engaging lecturer and super charismatic and makes all the topics seem very intriguing. It is obvious that they both love what they do and have a great understanding of the subject matter.” |
GH745 |
Monitoring and Evaluation of Global Health Programs“Really appreciated Nafisa’s emphasis on being our colleague instead of our instructor. What I appreciated even more was her willingness to explain concepts and give thorough feedback on all deliverables. She pushed me to think outside the box and brought to light the importance of thinking through all aspects of an impact evaluation design.” |

LW719 |
Essentials of Public Health Law“Professor Squillace made this core course one of the most excellent experiences of my graduate school career. She made the course highly enjoyable and entertaining while managing to teach relatively dry material. She is one of the best instructors I have encountered in this program.” |

Karla Damus |
MC845 |
Perinatal Health Services“Karla is an amazing professor, and I want to be in all of her classes. She is so knowledgeable, engaging, and truly cares about her students. She wants us all to succeed and does her very best in making sure that happens inside and outside of the classroom! She is the best!” |
PH510 |
Introduction to Public Health“I cannot say enough good things about Sophie Godley. Above and beyond the best professor that I have had in college. She opened my eyes to what I want to do with my career, and it was because of her passion and strength of character. Her teaching abilities are outstanding.” |

Avery McIntosh |
BS720 |
Introduction to R: Software for Statistical Computing Environment“He is easily approachable and always willing to help even with projects unrelated to his course. Has an excellent mastery of his subject and is able to deliver it in a way that is easy even for novices to learn.” |
PH712 |
Public Health Responses to Emergencies“Harold was hilarious and energetic when we were tired and overloaded with information, which made it much easier. Both Harold and Kathleen were so nice and knew how overwhelmed we were, and appreciated how much we were trying. They really cared about us, in addition to the subject. They were great together, particularly evening one another out.” |
|
PH866 |
Public Health Leadership Seminar“The instructors were wonderful. Great listeners, great mentors, and taught a refreshing and focusing class.” |
|
PM755 |
Health Care Delivery Systems“I regret every good review I have given instructors on past reviews because it diminishes the value of this Excellent rating. Dr. Walter has very high standards, which she holds everybody in the class to, especially herself. She communicates assignments clearly, evaluates ruthlessly, and is a wholly wonderful instructor.” |
|
Mari-Lynn Drainoni |
PM831 |
Implementation Science“Mari-Lynn is an amazing instructor with a very strong understanding of the material. Her personal experience also allows for her to share real-life examples of the concepts taught in the class. She is very supportive and really listens to and values each student in the class. I really looked forward to attending this class each week.” |

SB800 |
The Obesity Epidemic: A Social-Ecological Perspective for Promoting Physical Activity and Healthy Eating“Monica’s preparedness and excitement made the course one of my favorites at Boston University. She is absolutely my favorite professor at BU.” |
Recipients of the Summer 2016 Awards
BS723 |
Introduction to Statistical Computing“Ching-Ti was a very helpful professor. He was always willing to answer questions both about topics in class and statistical questions that I had regarding out of class projects. He really seemed engaged in teaching, cared about our understanding of the material, and made the class enjoyable..” |

GH774 |
Program Design for Global Health“I think one of the reasons this class is so special is because of the dynamic Wolffy and Cristin bring to it. They both are so knowledgeable and approachable … and critic your work in different but in equally constructive ways. It was really unique to have two people like that teaching a course, and I truly appreciate both of them and the work they put into the course for us so much.” |

MC782 |
Women and Substance Use“Angela is a great professor. She has a kind, welcoming demeanor, and respects everyone’s opinions and insight. She has done really impressive work in this field, and contributes much of her own experience and insight to the discussions. That is really valuable. Also, it is really inspiring to see a young professor that is so well established and doing fantastic research. In my opinion, in addition to being well prepared and thoughtful, she is also a great role model for anyone hoping to work with vulnerable populations, and have an impact in public health research, and public health as a whole.” |
SB730 |
Stress as a Public Health Probelm“Amazing professor! Dr. Dolan knew what she was talking about, was extremely welcoming, and stimulated discussion.” |
