Housing & Dining
Summer Term students registered for a full six-week session are welcome to live on campus at Boston University. Living on campus in the summer creates camaraderie and a sense of community as you and your fellow students dine, study, and enjoy time together.
If you are interested in summer on-campus housing, apply online through BU Housing beginning in March.
Types of housing
On-campus accommodations are available in traditional-style and apartment-style residences.
Rooms in traditional-style and apartment-style residences contain a dresser, desk, mattress, bed frame, and chair for each student. You must provide your own pillow and linens, including extra-long twin bed sheets (beds are 80 inches long). Apartment-style residences are also furnished and equipped with kitchen and bathroom facilities; apartment residents must provide their own kitchen utensils, cleaning items, and bathroom supplies.
Applying for on-campus housing
To reserve an on-campus residence assignment, you must submit an online application through the BU Housing website. A $200 nonrefundable housing guarantee payment is required with your online application. All residence assignments are made on a space-available basis and according to the dates that online housing applications are submitted.
You must have an active BU login name and Kerberos password to apply for BU Housing.
International visiting students will be emailed instructions on how to submit a Housing Application after they have been registered for courses.
Dining plans
A dining hall and other retail dining locations are open throughout the summer for your dining pleasure. Visit Open Now | Dining Services to view all of the options available. Students assigned to traditional-style residences must choose one of the three summer dining plans available. Students assigned to apartment-style residences or living off campus have the option to purchase a dining plan or a Convenience Points plan. If you select this option, you must complete an Optional Dining Plan Agreement for one of the three dining plans offered or the Convenience Points Plan Agreement (a points-only plan, in increments of $25). Optional Dining Plan and Convenience Points Plan Agreements are available during the summer by contacting the Terrier Card office; payment is required at the time of purchase.
