Mobile Flexi sites use a different set of widget areas (often called sidebars) to make the most out of the limited space available on mobile device screens. These two widget areas, Mobile Top and Mobile Bottom, appear above and below the main content area of your site rather than beside it (when viewed on a mobile device).

When modifying widgets, be aware of which widget area they are in. The settings for a widget in the Right Sidebar area, for example, will most likely (and probably should) be different from the settings for that same widget in Mobile Bottom.

Add a Widget for Mobile

  1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard by adding /wp-admin/ to the end of your site's URL.
  2. Expand the Site Design menu and select Widgets.
  3. Click the arrow to the right of Mobile Bottom to expand the widget area and see what widgets are currently in use.
  4. To add a new widget, choose one from the Available Widgets section of the page, click and hold down your mouse button on the title, and drag it into the desired widget area. The dashed outline represents the location of your widget in the widget area.
  5. Once the new widget appears in your widget area, click the arrow to the right of its title to view the widget settings.
  6. Click Save in any widget to save the settings for all widgets and widget areas.
