  1. As a BU employee, I joined the DASH website about a year ago, and I enjoyed the weekly newsletters. However, I never actively followed the program until about two months ago. I started to follow the guidelines, and I keep a daily journey of what I have eaten. It’s a very straightforward approach to food consumption. I have lost almost 10 pounds by eating healthy foods in reasonable quantities. I don’t feel deprived in any way.

I agree – it’s not a diet so much as a life-style change, and I feel better for it.

  2. I believe that avoiding prepared foods would be the first step to lose weight. They might taste fine, but refined foods include very little vitamins and minerals, making you feed on more simply to have enough power to get throughout the day. If you’re constantly feeding on these foods, transitioning to whole grains and other complex carbohydrates will make you to have more strength while taking in less.
