There are 16 comments on BU Says Good-bye to Lu Lingzi

  1. The title for this article is not appropriate. A student’s life cut suddenly short cannot be summed up in a “good-bye.” That is a terrible choice of words, given all that Boston has been through this past week.

    1. Deb, all that the parents have “been through this past week” and you’re focusing on semantics in an article about the girl’s memorial service? For heaven’s sake, step back and see the big picture. Pray for the parents in this their time of horrendous suffering rather than focus on whether or not the choice of words in this article’s title was suitable for you.

  2. Dear Family and Friends of Lu Lingzi, My heart is full of compassion for your loss. Lingzi was obviously so bright, beautiful and full of joy just a week ago. It so sad that she is gone due to a senseless act of violence. I hope your hearts are comforted by the thoughts and prayers of so many who are thinking about Lingzi and you.

  3. 相识, 并不意味着相互认识.
    还没有机会好好认识你. 你便离我们而去.
    再见, 也许再也无法相见.
    天堂路上走好. 我们会永远记得你的微笑.
    令子. Rest in PEACE.

  4. Why so angry, Deb on? The BU community was saying goodbye, and what is wrong with that? That’s what we say to people we love who we’ll never see again — or, in the case of those who have faith, people we will see again. I don’t understand why you choose to lash out at a headline writer when there’s so much more to think about, and there’s so much more to be grateful for given what we’ve all been through in the last week.

    Lingzi (Tears Like Rain)

    Boston girl/we hardly knew ye
One in a billion or so
    Hands across the water
So far to come/so far to go
    Beantown sidewalks quiet now
But my city not quite the same
No one ‘round here can forget your face
And we will always remember your name

    Tears like rain fall/falling rain
    Wash away the day
    Into the streams and rivers
    That cut the earth
    And carve the rocks away
    Tears like rain

Shenyang girl/they knew you so well
One in a billion or so
    North bank of the river
There is a girl with a dream
All your city in bloom again
But springtime not quite the same
No one ‘round there can forget your face
And they will always remember your name

    Tears like rain fall/falling rain
    Wash away the day
    Into the streams and rivers
    That cut the earth
    And carve the rocks away/remember
The Boston girl/she’s gone back home
Through tears that fall like rain
    Tears like rain
