New Employee Resources
- Setting Up Your Username and Password. Your BU login name and Kerberos password are used to confirm your identity across most computing resources at the University. Learn more about setting up your account, changing your password, and updating your preferences.
- Getting a Terrier Card. The Terrier Card is the official Boston University student and staff identification card. Faculty should contact Human Resources to learn more about obtaining or replacing a Terrier Card.
- Setting Up Email. BU offers integrated email and calendaring services to all faculty and staff through Microsoft Exchange. Follow the link to set up your email, then go to bu.edu/webmail to access your mail.

- National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity. BU has an institutional membership to NCFDD, an independent professional development, training, and mentoring community of faculty, postdocs, & graduate students from over 450 colleges and universities.
Research & Scholarship
- My CV. My CV is a software system that assists Charles River Campus faculty members in collecting and maintaining their scholarly and professional contributions, and completing their Faculty Annual Reports.
- BU Office of Research. Learn more about current research, research administration (including Sponsored Programs, Research Compliance, Research Development, Technology Development, and more), funding opportunities, and policies.
- My Grant Expenses. Offers principal investigators grant-to-date accounting and journal entry tracking reports. Investigators may also delegate viewing access to colleagues and assistants.
- Interfolio. Interfolio is a software system that assists Boston University faculty and administrators in the submission of tenure and promotion applications, the collection of external evaluation letters, and the assembly/review of candidates’ dossiers.
- Faculty Annual Report (Medical Campus). Provides an interactive version of the Medical Campus form that faculty may complete and submit electronically during the annual review process. Access is limited to Medical Campus faculty.
Teaching, Learning, and Course Management
- Blackboard Learn. Blackboard Learn is the current edition of Boston University’s Blackboard service, utilized by faculty and students.
- MyBU Student. View and search schedules, course descriptions, reports, as well as instructor-specific course lists, course websites, and grading information.
- Faculty Link. The Faculty Link contains student and course information for enrollments prior to May 2024.
- Faculty/Staff Link. The Faculty/Staff Link contains student and course information for enrollments prior to May 2024.
- Assessment Systems. Boston University offers scanning and scoring of tests, course evaluations and surveys, as well as data collection and professional forms design. Learn more about your options and costs.
- Courseware Information. Provides information about the course management software, CourseInfo and WebCT, in use at Boston University.
- University Course – Transfer Equivalency System. Provides descriptions of courses offered by the university for the CollegeSource Transfer Equivalency System process for evaluating student transfer credit. The listing can be searched by semester, and starting course.

Technology
- IS&T Teaching Services. IS&T provides a number of Teaching and Learning Technology Services. Learn more about what IS&T can do for you in the classroom.
- Media Services Request Page. Reservations for professional audio and visual presentation support, computer large-format display, sound reinforcement, audio recording services, and video conferencing services.
- Shipley Center. The Shipley Center supports Boston University’s faculty, departments, and schools with technology-enabled educational innovation in their residential courses and programs. Working within the Institute for Excellence in Teaching & Learning, the center aims to celebrate and assist in thoughtful educational experimentation through offering instructional design, digital media production, educational technology discovery, project management, and funding support to faculty and leadership across all three BU campuses.
- IT Help Center. The IT Help Center provides centralized technology support (software, hardware, and account services) to the BU community via phone, e-mail, and walk-in locations.
Support Services
- Faculty & Staff Assistance Office. The Faculty & Staff Assistance Office offers free and confidential support to BU employees regarding any concerns that affect personal life or work performance. Services are provided for both the CRC and MED campuses.
- Office of the Ombuds. The Office of the Ombuds is a confidential, off-the-record independent resource dedicated to problem-solving. The Ombuds can act as a first step for BU faculty and staff with concerns that are unsure where to turn for help. Services are provided for both the CRC and MED campuses.
- Helping Students in Distress. Student Health Services has provided a resource on how to assist students in distress. Learning how to identify problems and intervene early can make a considerable difference in helping students find the resources they need.
- Childcare & Family Resources. This site provides resources to the families of the Boston University community. Learn more about referral, childcare, and online services.
- LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff. The LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff works to to foster a sense of belonging and connectedness for LGBTQIA+ faculty and staff, increase the visibility of LGBTQIA+ resources, research, and scholarship, and improve recruitment and retention in the development of an inclusive and equitable workplace.
- Retired Employees. Human Resources maintains a comprehensive resources for retired and retiring Faculty and Staff. Further questions about Emeritus Faculty should be directed to the individual’s department.
