Graduation with Honors
School of Dental Medicine Policy
Graduation honors are only applicable to students in predoctoral programs.
Four-year DMD students who have excelled academically over six terms will receive recognition in the commencement program. If a student qualifies for honors after completion of the program, their diploma will be produced with the noted recognition.
- Summa Cum Laude: cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above
- Magna Cum Laude: cumulative GPA of 3.50 to 3.79
- Cum Laude: cumulative GPA of 3.20 to 3.49
Two-year DMD Advanced Standing students who have excelled academically over two terms will receive recognition in the commencement program. If a student qualifies for honors after completion of the program, their diploma will be produced with the noted recognition.
- High Honors: cumulative GPA of 3.70 or above
- Honors: cumulative GPA of 3.55 to 3.69
