Pass/Fail

University Policy

Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences Policy

Students seeking to make a course Pass/Fail must do so within the same term they are enrolled in the course. The Pass/Fail deadline will always be the same date as the last day to drop a course with a ‘W’ grade. In order to designate a class Pass/Fail, students must do so through their home school. CDS students should use drop-in advising hours for the CDS Advising Office to designate a course Pass/Fail.

Please note that if you designate a class Pass/Fail, it may not fulfill any major or minor requirements. You may designate only one class Pass/Fail per term, and a total of two courses for the entirety of your undergraduate career at BU. Please see the University’s Policy on Pass/Fail Courses for Undergraduate Students for more information.

If you would like to utilize Drop-in Advising, you can schedule a meeting with CDS Advising on Handshake by requesting a “General Academic Advising” appointment.
