Concentrations

The College of Engineering offers specialized concentrations that allow students in any ENG bachelor’s degree programs to complement their undergraduate degrees.

Concentrations consist of 12 units of coursework and an experiential component. They can be earned through careful selection of program electives, without additional coursework, and will be noted on students’ official transcripts.

The College of Engineering offers the following concentrations:

  • Energy Technologies & Sustainability
  • Machine Learning
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Nanotechnology
  • Robotics
  • Technology Innovation
  • Aerospace Engineering (only for mechanical engineering majors and minors)

Students must declare their intent to complete a concentration by May 1 of their junior year in order to facilitate both course planning and planning the Experiential Component of the concentration. Declaration of Concentration forms can be found on the ENG Undergraduate Student Forms page and should be submitted to engrec@bu.edu.

Please visit the Concentrations page on the ENG website for more information.
