Dual JD/LLM in International & European Business Law at ICADE

Through this program, third-year JD students spend an entire year (fall and spring terms) in Madrid, Spain, enrolled as full-time students in the Master in International & European Business Law Program at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid (ICADE). The structured curriculum focuses on the institutional framework for EU business affairs, EU and international business regulation, EU market regulation, and international and EU regulation and enforcement. At the end of the year, students receive the BU Law JD and an LLM in International & European Business Law from ICADE. This program is available only to qualified third-year students, and instruction is offered entirely in English.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for the program, BU Law students will need to complete four terms of residency, as well as complete their upper-class writing, professional responsibility, and practical skills requirements prior to departure. There are no prerequisites for the program. Students who complete this program are awarded 26 units toward their JD: 24 units for two terms of full-time coursework, plus a 2-unit independent paper supervised by a BU Law professor.

Admissions Procedure

Formal admissions to the program are processed through the Graduate & International Programs office at the School of Law. Students apply during the spring term for programs in the upcoming academic year.
