Accreditation Overview

Boston University will have a ten-year reaccreditation visit by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) in October 2019. This comprehensive evaluation visit is preceded by an intensive University-wide self-study process and the creation of a one-hundred-page self-study report addressing the nine NECHE Standards for Accreditation. The reaccreditation process offers an opportunity for institutional reflection and planning for the future. As the functional responsibilities of the University’s standing committees and councils correspond closely to the NECHE standards, the University has used the existing administrative and faculty governance infrastructure as the principal means for conducting the self-study.
