The Master of Science in Financial Management (MSFM) concentration in International Finance at Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET) is designed for professionals whose work involves multinational corporations and global financial markets. The International Finance concentration will address corporate questions pertaining to foreign exchange risk, transaction and translation exposure, and corporate strategy and foreign direct investment, ensuring that you are qualified for jobs in areas of worldwide credit risk evaluation, quantitative strategies for global security selection, risk measurement and mitigation, cash management, and the impact of foreign exchange rates on the cost of capital and budgeting.
Students who complete the Financial Management master’s degree concentration in International Finance will be able to demonstrate:
- Proficiency in multinational finance quantitative analysis, including international trade and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
- Demonstrated ability to apply mathematical and statistical modeling in financial analytics in the context of multinational financial management.
- Mastery in forecasting techniques to the analysis of problems of multinational business organizations and performance.
- The ability to utilize financial statements and foreign exchange derivative instruments to assess and manage currency transactional and translational risk.
- Knowledge and ability to perform data organization, analysis, and visualization for global finance decision-making.
Qualifying international students in F-1 status are also entitled to Curricular Practical Training (CPT), a type of employment/internship authorization, after completing two consecutive full-time semesters of study in the program.

Dual Concentration Option
You can obtain additional specialized knowledge by completing both Financial Management degree concentrations. Students must complete the requirements for both concentrations with a minimum of 15 total courses (the exact number of courses needed will depend on the concentrations and the courses required).
