Welcome!
The Master of Science in Administrative Studies is one of the longest-running programs offered through the Department of Administrative Sciences at Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET). Offering a specialized course of study concentration on Innovation & Technology, the curriculum explores a variety of concepts needed to ensure that you have the tools to be an effective business manager in a wide variety of roles within high-tech and biotech companies—in areas including product development, marketing, project and operations management, human resources, business start-up, and disaster recovery and business continuity. In addition, the Administrative Studies Concentration in Innovation & Technology will serve students well in more traditional environments, such as consumer electronics and manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and financial services.
The Administrative Studies Innovation & Technology master’s degree is best suited to those who have gained an understanding of their profession’s general skills and abilities, and who are seeking advanced specialized education to confront current business administration challenges. The specialized nature of this program—focusing on business innovation, design thinking, technology, and principles of entrepreneurship—is what distinguishes is from a master’s degree in business administration (the MBA). Because of the differences in design and intent, courses in Boston University’s MBA and MSAS programs are generally not transferable.
We look forward to welcoming you into our Innovation & Technology curriculum, where we will explore research-based concepts and innovative practices that facilitate commercial development and improvement of products, services, and processes that ultimately enhance the value of the organization—large or small—and add value for stakeholders.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Park, PhD
