Project Management Programs
“Projects” include any unique endeavor that has a definitive start and finish and consumes resources. Projects run the gamut from making a home improvement to introducing a new app or line of clothing to the construction of a major international airport. Owing to their uniqueness, projects require innovation, and their complexity demands a structured methodology to deliver results. In what the Project Management Institute (PMI®) defines as The Project Economy, well-managed projects are essential within every organization, across all industries. According to the PMI 2021 Talent Gap: Ten-Year Employment Trends, Costs, and Global Implications, the need for employees with applicable skills will continue to grow as industries become more project-oriented—and those with the talent will find an abundance of roles in a global economy that will need 25 million new project professionals by 2030.
Metropolitan College’s Project Management graduate programs prepare you to align organizational projects with strategy, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and complete work on time and within budget. Along with developing mastery of real-world business basics, you will acquire technical expertise along with skills in leadership and strategic business management. We cover a range of methodologies, including agile project management. Our program is grounded in international standards and we prepare students both for PMP® and Agile certifications.
Successful Project Management program candidates have at least two years of working experience, a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, and an upper-division GPA of 3.0 or higher. There are substantial case studies and project discussions in class. We welcome early- or mid-career professionals who want to advance up the job ladder, as well as mid-career project managers who want to reinforce their knowledge of PM and advance into fields such as program and portfolio management and agile project management.
