Enrollment Deposit Information

Dear Future Terriers,

Congratulations once again on your admission to Boston University. We are thrilled at the prospect of welcoming you to our community. We can’t wait to meet you!

This year, some of you have faced unexpected difficulties due to the launch of the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. We recognize the challenge this has posed and appreciate that the delayed release of the FAFSA results by the U.S. Department of Education could impact how you make the all-important decision about where you attend college next year. We also understand that this is one of the most important decisions that you and your family will make, so please know that we are here to support you through this process.

As you may already know, BU is committed to meeting 100% of the demonstrated need for admitted first-year students who are US citizens or permanent residents. While we are incredibly proud of your achievements, we also recognize that you may be waiting to hear about need-based financial aid from other colleges and universities to which you have applied. If so, we want to provide you and your family with the flexibility you need to make an informed decision about college.

If you are a student who was admitted to BU and you received a BU need-based financial aid award, please complete this form to request an extension to the enrollment deposit deadline until May 15, 2024. An extension will be considered for students who were admitted regular decision, are US Citizens or permanent residents, and who have completed their CSS Profile and FAFSA applications. This form must be submitted by May 1, 2024.

If you have specific questions about your financial aid award, please visit your MyBU Applicant Portal and follow the steps to schedule time with BU Financial Assistance. They are happy to assist you.

We hope this news provides some relief to you and your family as you navigate through this final, yet most critical part of your college application process.

I wish you all the best with your college decision.

Warm regards,

Kelly A. Walter
