Student Admissions Representative Application
Fall 2024 Application
BU Admissions is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic students who enjoy sharing their positive experiences with prospective students and families who visit the BU Admissions Visitor Center daily throughout the academic year. A Student Admissions Representative (SAR) is not only helpful and personable but committed to customer service and attention to detail.
The duties of this position include (but are not limited to):
- Greeting visitors and assisting them with their visit to the University by answering questions, providing contact information, and sharing their BU experiences!
- Scheduling and adjusting reservations, checking-in for sessions, and helping with the logistics of our daily campus visits
- Assisting with administrative duties as assigned by a supervisor or delegated by a Senior SAR
- Answering incoming phone calls and responding to emails daily
- Leading campus tours when needed
- If trained, speaking in information sessions occasionally
Please note the following policies and expectations of SARs for the 2024-25 academic year:
- The official work schedule is through the last day of classes per each semester.
- The compensation for a SAR is $15.50/hour.
- SARs will be expected to work at least three Saturdays each semester and attend one-hour-long meetings per month
- SARs are expected to distribute their hours among at least two days per week in shifts of three or more hours.
- SARs will not be permitted to schedule any conflicting Admissions commitments during their SAR shift.
- SARs must be in good academic standing throughout their tenure in the position. A minimum of a 2.5 overall GPA is required, and students on academic probation will not be able to continue serving in Admissions in any capacity. In addition, all students must be in good judicial and financial standing with Boston University. BU Admissions will conduct periodic checks with the appropriate student services offices to verify that these conditions are being met.
