I am an incoming first-year or transfer student, who’s my academic advisor?
You will be assigned an academic advisor during summer 2025. You can expect to receive an email in mid-to-late May with guidance and information about when and how to register for fall 2025 classes. Registration for fall 2025 classes will open for transfer students on Tues. June 17, 2025 and will open for first-years on Tues. June 24, 2025. To learn more, visit Pardee Student Affairs & Services.
I am currently enrolled in classes at BU, who’s my academic advisor?
Each entering Pardee student is assigned a professional academic advisor. Your advisor’s name is available on the MyBU Student Portal under the “Academic Advising” link in “Academics.” Each student will also be assigned a faculty mentor when they enter Pardee.
Who advises on degree and major requirements?
Pardee academic advisors help students with degree and major requirements. To schedule an appointment, please call the Pardee Undergraduate Office at 617-353-6342, email psgugrad@bu.edu, or use Handshake.
Who advises on Hub requirements?
Your Pardee academic advisor will advise you on integrating Hub requirements with your major. In addition, CAS Advising provides all the information and support needed to satisfy academic requirements in the College of Arts & Sciences. Students can arrange to meet with a CAS advisor by making an appointment on Handshake, emailing casadv@bu.edu, or calling 617-353-2400.
How do I get in touch with the Pardee Student Services office?
Advisors will be available via Zoom, and you can make an advising appointment via Handshake. You can reach the office by phone at 617-353-6342, Monday to Friday from 9 to 5. For quick questions, you can email your advisor directly, or you can email psgugrad@bu.edu.

How do I change majors within Pardee?
Pardee academic advisors will help students think through their decision to change majors or programs of study. Once a student is ready to switch, they will need to fill out a Major Declaration Form.
How do I apply for an Intra-University Transfer (IUT) into Pardee?
For policies regarding IUT into Pardee, please consult the Boston University Bulletin. Students interested in transferring into Pardee should students should email casadv@bu.edu with their name, ID number, current program of study, and their program of study that they would like to pursue in Pardee and additional academic advising options will be presented along with access to the IUT application.
Who supports first-year students?
In addition to all of the faculty, advisors in the schools and colleges, residence life staff, and other students services staff across campus, BU has a team of Assistant Directors of First-Year Student Success (AD) whose sole purpose is to support first-year students as they transition to college. Lucie Levine is the AD for first-years who start at Pardee – you can find their name on your MyBU Student Portal under “Academic Advisors.” ADs provide guidance on a broad range of topics and help first-year students connect with the BU community – you should feel free to reach out to them with any and all questions!
If I have a question about a specific topic, where do I go?
Often you will have more than one possible source of information about a specific topic. And sometimes, if the topic is complex, you will be encouraged to consult with multiple people. The chart below gives you a starting place for common advising topics.
