Fabiola Cordano

Special Educator, Amigos K-8 School
Fabiola Cordano currently has 4 initial licenses, Early Education, English as a Second Language, Special Education: Moderate Needs, and Elementary Education. Cordano earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology as well as a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in English as a second language through the Boston Teacher Residency Program at UMass Boston. She started my teaching career as a K1 Spanish dual language teacher at the Hurley School in Boston, MA. Cordano then moved on to 2nd grade Sheltered English Immersion at Orchard Gardens in Boston, MA. She wanted more of a challenge, so she made the move to 2nd grade Inclusion at Young Achievers in Boston, MA. A few years later, Cordano decided to teach 4th grade Inclusion at the same school. She is currently teaching Spanish dual language special education for students in grades K-4 at the Amigos school in Cambridge, MA.
Cordano is interested in pursuing the TAT program because she feels African history is not something that is commonly taught in schools. She believes it is important to teach this history and influence children of all descents in order to change the current state of the world. It is also about time that everyone is represented in the history that is taught, and Cordano would love to be a part of that change.
