Five things we’re thankful for this fall

Posted November 2019

There are millions of things to be thankful for—great friends, unforgettable vacations, sunsets. The list can really go on forever. But we’re especially grateful for these five.

Global Days of Service volunteers

We had 2,566 volunteers who showed up and made a difference in their community, serving a total of 18,834.7 hours. Wow. Check out pictures from Centre Street Food Pantry in Newton, street cleaning in Tokyo, Hudson River Park cleanup in New York and much more.

Our engaged alumni

To all those who showed up to our numerous networking events and happy hours or tuned-in to our webinars and podcast episodes. Thank you for making our hearts beat a little faster, for brining your friends to an event or coming in with an open mind to meet new ones. We can’t wait to see you at our next gathering.

All the Terrier Tuesday takeovers

We love being able to connect our alumni digitally and our #TerrierTuesday volunteers have really given us that opportunity. A different alum has taken over our Instagram account almost every Tuesday for the past year and it’s been truly magically. Sign up if you’re interested.

The Campaign for BU supporters

Seven years ago we set out to raise $1 billion for our first comprehensive campaign. We quickly raised the stakes to $1.5 billion a few years later. We closed the campaign this September with $1.85 billion. No words can describe how grateful we are for the 175,000+ donors.

Our beautiful campus

Thanks to the Campaign for BU, our campus has continued to grow and improve. Examples include the construction of the Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre and the Rajen Kilachand Center for Integrated Life Sciences & Engineering or the renovations of the Dahod Family Alumni Center and Fuller’s BU Pub. Take a look at how the campus has transformed.
