About
Using our official Instagram account, you will be given permission to go “Live” for ten to fifteen minutes. Our goal is to provide our alumni & friends with light-hearted content that will also teach them something new. We hope to cultivate a stronger sense of community and connection through this initiative.

Rules & Guidelines
Have you been contacted by a staff member and scheduled for a Live? Congratulation! You have been carefully selected to use our Instagram account and to publicly represent Boston University. Please read the rules and guidelines below. Anything that does not meet the requirements below will be deleted.
Before the takeover
- Put a reminder on your calendar.
- Send us your bio, photos of yourself, and a brief description of your session.
- Check out some of the saved Lives, which can be seen on our IGTV.
- Practice makes perfect. Film yourself a few times to get aquatinted with the camera.
Instructions
A few important things
- Test your video and microphone prior to the Live.
- Avoid giving advice to students, our followers are alums just like you.
- Avoid wording like “we’re hiring” or “contact me for…”
- This is not a place for business promotions, but a place to show others what a day-in-the-life looks like for a small business owner, marketer, sales rep., etc.
