In the past, Global Days of Service was more focused on in-person sites like food banks and park clean-ups. But there are still dozens of ways we can make an impact online—check out some of the volunteer activities we’ve outlined below.

Sift through pictures

Amnesty Decoders is an innovative platform for volunteers around the world. Help researchers sift through pictures, information, and documents. All you need to get involved is a computer or smartphone with internet access. Register here

Play free online games and quizzes

Set your difficulty level and choose from categories such as geography, foreign languages, and math. For every question you answer correctly, FreeRice will donate the equivalent of 10 grains of rice! The game is available on the web, the App Store, and Google Play Store. Register here

Use your multilingual skills

Distributed Proofreaders provides a web-based method to ease the conversion of Public Domain books into e-books. You’ll be presented with a scanned page image and the corresponding text. You will then compare the image, proofread it, and sent it back to the site. Register here
