Terriers Together: Funding the future of BU athletics
Posted October 2022
The #TerriersTogether Challenge is an opportunity for alumni, friends, and family to come together and support the future of Terrier teams across campus. Last year, over 1,200 gifts were made to varsity teams, club sports, the spirit squads, and physical education, recreation, and dance programs, with over half of all support coming from our alumni! Your gifts help provide teams with everything they need—from new equipment and uniforms to travel expenses.
Varsity sports
Varsity sports teams are going head-to-head in the Scarlet vs. White fundraiser! The group with the most unique donors will split $20,000 in bonus funds, generously provided by Carrie & Tim Burr (MET’97) and Beth (COM’81, Par Questrom’17) & Joe Castronovo (Questrom’78, Par Questrom’17). Your gifts can help fund many other varsity teams across campus.
Club sports
For many students, their Club Sport provides a home away from home, a close-knit community with a shared passion for sports, friendship, and competition. We’re raising funds to enhance the Club Sports experience and make it accessible for all who want to compete. Clubs Sports are participating in “Daily Unique Donor Challenges” in which the top three teams with the most unique donors will come away with additional bonus funds.
Spirit squads & PERD
The Boston University Spirit Squads, made up of the BU Bands, Cheer Team, Dance Team, and our beloved mascot, are the fabric of the Terriers’ school spirit. From game day to student and alumni events, our Spirit Squad members are champions of BU pride. PERD (Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance) is made up of the Dance Theater Group, Intramurals, and FitRec Aquatics and Facilities. Funding for these programs helps to ensure that all BU students have unfettered access to our world-class facilities!
