Who is Ky?
Ky Trinh (CAS‘22) grew up in Alief, a suburb of Houston, Texas. With tough living arrangements after his parents’ divorce, Ky had trouble making connections and finding support in his community. A scholarship at BU granted him the opportunity to move to a vibrant city and as he says, “a much better climate than Houston.”
What is he up to now?
Ky is currently studying in the College of Arts and Sciences as a neuroscience major. He is an active member of the Mind and Brain Society, which aims to support an eager undergraduate community with conversations and resources that are fundamental to the neuroscience field today. Ky has also found a community within the BU Gaming Club. The club meets to play video games together and hosts both casual and competitive gaming conventions. You can also catch Ky playing for his Division II League of Legends team or heading to the gym to weightlift.
What’s next?
After graduation, his goal is to make neuroprosthetics more accessible and further human advancement through his research.
“I would thank [the donors] for completely changing my life and giving me the opportunity to better my life, my parents, and the world.”
