Dan received his BA in Computer Science from Boston University College of Arts & Sciences, and then went on to BU’s Aram V. Chobanian & Edward Avedisian School of Medicine to receive his MD. While at the school, he was very active in student life, serving as the president of the student government.
After medical school he did his residency in Internal Medicine at Boston Medical Center, the hospital of Boston University. He then remained for an additional year to serve as Chief Resident for Internal Medicine. After fellowship, he worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical center as an attending in Internal Medicine, before deciding to return to subspecialty training in cardiology. He is currently a fellow in cardiovascular medicine at Boston Medical Center and will complete his training in 2020.
Dan has remained an active part of the BU community since graduation, serving on the medical school’s Executive Alumni Council as a director. As a physician at Boston Medical Center he has the opportunity to work frequently with medical students at Chobanian & Avedisian. He devotes much of his time to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. He was drawn to Boston Medical Center by the unique and diverse patient population, many of whom are underserved and vulnerable.
Dan is married Laura Kirshenbaum (LAW’11), who practices law at Rose, Chinitz & Rose in Downtown Boston. They reside in Brookline, Massachusetts. They have two daughters, Laila and Abbi, whom they anticipate will be future Terriers.
