Zhuoyi (Joe) Fan (CAS’10, GRS’10)

Joe Fan is a director at China Ping An Insurance Overseas (Holdings) Limited. In this role, he aspires to understand the needs of all peoples, to help them form partnerships, seize common opportunities, and defend against common threats. Joe is based in Hong Kong and travels frequently.

Joe was born and raised in mainland China. He was fortunate to have the opportunity to explore the world with his parents during his teenage years, and eventually settled down in Arlington, Virginia. After graduating from Boston University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics and mathematics, Joe went to New York to study engineering at Columbia University. He then worked as a global banker at ICBC and then CICC.

As a passionate liberal arts student, Joe is always curious to understand how everything works in our world. He enjoys travelling and making new friends. He dedicates his weekends to his son’s baseball and rugby games, and enjoys a quality Sunday brunch at his favorite local diner (“Cha Chaan Teng”) in Hong Kong with his family.
