Your @alum.bu.edu email account
The Boston University Alumni Association is working with BU’s Office of Information Services & Technology to provide all BU alumni with a BU-supported email account.
Alumni who graduated after 2011 could take their @bu.edu Google-based email account with them when they graduated, but over two-thirds of BU alumni were limited to an email forwarding service. We’re pleased to announce that the time has come when all BU alumni now have the opportunity to register for a full BU email account. A new @bu.edu account entitles you to access all alumni benefits, including BU Google email and the online BU G-Suite apps.
If you have an email forwarding address, ending in @alum.bu.edu, you will receive an invitation to create your new account. Please use the unique URL in that invitation to establish your new account. If you don’t have an @alum.bu.edu email, please complete this form to register.

Can I keep my EFFL? I don’t want the new account
No, the systems that enable email forwarding for life are no longer being supported by Boston University.
I have my @alum.bu.edu email everywhere; now what?
From the time you receive the first notice, you have 60 days until your email forwarding is closed. We suggest that you use your new @bu.edu email as the destination of your current email forwarding address. This will allow you to gauge how frequently, and from whom, you’re getting emails through your email forwarding, so you can reach out to them directly with your new address. Once you create your new @bu.edu email, we will help you set up your email forwarding destination with your new email address.
Can you alert all parties who use my @alum.bu.edu address that it’s going away?
No, that information is private to you. We don’t monitor who emails you through your @alum.bu.edu email. We suggest creating an auto-reply in your new @bu.edu email address (if it’s set up as your new email destination) to alert the person sending through @alum.bu.edu that your email address has changed.
Yes! I’ve been waiting for this! How do I get started?
