Background
Megan received a B.S. in Kinesiology from San Diego State University in 2022. As an undergraduate, she conducted research at SDSU’s Center of Neurotechnology studying the use of Brain Computer Interfaces (BCI’s) in Parkinson’s Disease.
Megan joined the CTE Center as a Clinical Research Assistant in September of 2022. She assists with research projects aimed at understanding the pathologic and clinical diagnostic criteria of neurodegenerative diseases related to Alzheimer’s Disease and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). She also helps to coordinate brain donations and work with donor families to obtain comprehensive qualitative data about the donors’ lives.
Research Interests
Megan has a strong interest in the education and awareness realm of mTBI’s, when partnered with a love for neuroscience, manifested into a passion for CTE research. She is particularly interested in the Brain-Gut Axis and how brain injuries can impact Enteric Nervous System function and gut health. She hopes to refine her skills as a researcher and grow as a compassionate clinician within her time here at BU.
