Affiliates Program Application

The Program 

The goal of the Affiliates program is to support antiracist scholars engaged or interested in public scholarship, community-centered research, and/or interdisciplinary projects. Participating in the program offers an excellent opportunity for antiracist scholars to build their capacity for reaching public audiences, connect with researchers across disciplines and institutions, and collaborate with community partners. 

Since the founding of the Center in 2020, the program has welcomed over 230 inaugural Affiliates! Now, we are shifting towards a smaller cohort model which will allow us to better support Affiliates through programming, events, and funding opportunities. 

Eligibility

We will be accepting up to 20 Affiliates for the 2023-2024 cohort. We are looking for scholars from a variety of disciplines who are committed to antiracism and are interested in (1) learning how to translate their research for public audiences, and/or (2) partnering on community-centered research, projects, and initiatives. 

Because we are focused on building a regional community of scholars, this application cycle is limited to faculty in New England (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine). As the Affiliates program expands in the future, so might its criteria. If you are interested in affiliating with us but do not meet this cycle’s criteria, please subscribe to the Center’s newsletter for announcements about future cycles. 

Application Process

Applications must be submitted through our submission platform. A complete application consists of several short answers (300 words or less) as well as an updated curriculum vitae. Please note that the application must be completed and submitted all at once; you will not be able to save and return to the application at a later time.
