Graduate Student, School of Theology, Boston University
Boston University School of Theology
Alexander Chaim Solomon (he/they) is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Boston University School of Theology. He studies the intersections of contemporary psychoanalysis, decolonial theory, Marxist theory, and liberation-oriented pedagogy in order to foster individual and collective empowerment. Their education inspires them to actively participate in antiracist movements by organizing and marshaling demonstrations in the Boston area for organizations such as the Movement for Black Lives, #SayHerName, Never Again Action, and Movimiento Cosecha. Likewise, as an active member of the Greater Boston Tenants Union, he organizes tenant-lead unions to resist Boston’s inhumane housing system.
Alex is from Omaha, Nebraska, and of white South African descent. He aims to decenter himself from conversations around race by following the lead of their marginalized siblings. Rev. Howard Thurman famously said, “what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Let us foster our aliveness and radical humanity together.
