Carrie Preston is the Arvind and Chandan Nandlal Kilachand Professor and Director of Kilachand Honors College, a professor of English and women’s, gender, & sexuality studies, and the founding codirector of the Initiative on Forced Displacement at Boston University. She is the author of Modernism’s Mythic Pose: Gender, Genre, & Solo Performance (Oxford UP 2011) and Learning to Kneel: Noh, Modernism, & Journeys in Teaching (Columbia UP 2016). She is currently working on a new book entitled Participate! The Audience for Anti-racist Theater, a critical examination of the political and pedagogical work of audience participation in anti-racist theater.
