Haegi’s research draws from scholarship on race and racial inequality, intersectionality, nonprofits and community institutions, social movements, and urban politics. Her current research focuses on the strategies that New York City–based nonprofits use to serve and advocate for intersectionally disadvantaged immigrant groups. She has worked in government and in nonprofits at the local and national levels, and these experiences continue to inform her work.
