Patrick Sheldon’s dissertation work at UMass Boston focuses on satellite monitoring of water quality in Boston Harbor. Also as part of UMass Boston, Patrick is an NSF IGERT Associate fellow, coinvestigator on the Woods Hole Sea Grant entitled Online Conversations for Equity, Action, and Networking (OCEAN), and co-lead of the School for the Environment Antiracism Taskforce. The OCEAN project is a webinar and podcast series highlighting young professional Back, indigenous, and people of color in marine sciences, a predominantly white male field. In his free time, he enjoys pickup soccer and basketball, and learning how to cook Korean food with his partner and 장모님 (jang-monim).
